A Travesty
This was the team that beat Leicester away 1-0 on our first ever Championship game in 2007/8. No premiership money in the bank,no Adam money in the bank. Gates half what they are now. Will we put a better side out than this on August 3rd at Donny? We bloody well should but I doubt it personally...

Doesn't look a great team that on paper. Obviously Hoolahan is a stand out player.

Eh?

1 Paul Rachubka (fair enough - shit)
25 Shaun Barker (Quality RB, would have him back in an instant, after he recovers of course)
6 Ian Evatt (Was a quality CB at that time, if we can bring someone in of his quality back then, for free, I'll be surprised)
5 Michael Jackson (Solid, see Gary Mackenzie)
3 Stephen Crainey (Quality LB, we'll miss him)
11 Wes Hoolahan (Fantastic player, one of our top 5 players of the last few years IMO, maybe even top 3)
14 David Fox (Improved hugely since leaving, again would have him back)
4 Keith Southern (Gutted when he left, although Osborne is as good IMO)
7 Keigan Parker (Dickhead, but great forward when he stayed onside)
9 Andrew Morrell (Remember Swansea away, 6-3?)
12 Gary Taylor-Fletcher (Another one we'll miss)
Substitutes
17 Kaspars Gorkss (VERY good CB, again would have him back)

I think that team does look fairly good on paper, I'd be happy if we brought in players of the quality above anyway.

One or two great individual players but the main strength was the fact they played as a team and everyone worked their socks off.

I agree, we could do with a few of those players now!

I really hope PI can pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat and we have a good season, but it's an unfortunate (for us) fact that it's all about the money I'm afraid. Oystons policies are about to catch up with us, and he won't suffer one bit, it'll be the fans.
