RE: Church shooting
I now accept that part of living in America is the fact that every few weeks there will be a random mass shooting. The rest of of the world will remain incredulous and we will refuse to talk about it in any meaningful way. Remember that shooting in Las Vegas last month? Well, it's like it never happened. It is not mentioned, no changes are being considered and we have moved on.

If the largest killing ever at a largely white country music event didn't change a single mind, nothing will. These are the sons and daughters of the NRA backers. This church congregation is the prime gun supporting demographic. Christian, small town, white farmers. NOTHING WILL BE DONE. We won't consider background checks on gun buys, most of the heavy military weapons will continue to change hands at 'Gun Shows' for cash with no ID required (unlike lottery tickets which we are very strict on). It's just how it is.

How does this shit get sorted then? Obama looked like he was on the cusp.

Obviously trump wants everyone to be trigger happy but is there any chance gun law is going to change? Why can’t they just fuck off the NRA? The constitution has been changed before so that argument is bullshit.

If they said turn in your guns or if you’re found possessing guns you’ll get 25 years, most people would turn them in, surely?

This would have been avoided if the congregation were allowed to carry their guns. Unfortunately churches are gun free zones even in Texas. This law needs changing Mr Trump.
