Did she always say no or was it just this time?
Did she change her rules after the boy wet himself?

I can't remember her changing tact, it was an era when discipline was the order of the day, and teachers if I remember correctly would not tolerate interruptions of their lessons and anyone that did was dealt with accordingly.

A common phrase used around this time was, "children should be seen and not heard".

So others were refused the toilet then?

Please Miss, cut me some slack this was seventy years ago, I can remember this one incident of the lad in the corner but cannot remember any others or any kids asking to go to the loo.

A girl once peed herself in her mums car after I hadn't let her go all afternoon.
I merely pointed out that she could have used the toilet before the journey home.

I think you may need to consider a change of career. You definitely shouldn't be posting these details on a public message board. If your employers found out, you would be in a lot of trouble.

My eldest daughter teaches reception and wouldn't treat her children like you do and she certainly wouldn't post about it on the web.

Reception is different. Year 2 should be able to hold it until breaktime and lunchtime.

If it was your child would it bother you?

Already kicked off about this as my little girl is in year 2! If you need to go then you need to go!

Does her teacher not let them go? Why didn't your daughter go at playtime?

They get enough breaks and reminders to go to the toilet. Obviously it is not uncommon as you said you had to speak to your daughters teachers. Providing they go at the break they should be able to last until the next one. The problem occurs when they don't have a wee at playtime like they should.
