Great shame.........
........ Seasider starts a match day thread at 0850 this morning and my late afternoon just 4 posts.
Yes I understand it is a mickey mouse cup, we have the Oystons as owners but then most of us who come on here must have feelings for the club from it's history and certainly it's future prospects so although not an exciting match to discuss, i find I just can't put it all to the back of my mind.
Happy days a few years ago and we would have been discussing when Charlie is back from suspension, will Southern be in the team for tonight and will the manager play Burgess after coming back from injury.
If only the internet had been around decades ago, I was only thinking yesterday while answering a thread on the other side how the forums would have have been like in that 55/56 season, when we spent most of it in the top of the old first division and came runners up to Man U at the death.
Would we have been complaining about the state of the pitch, most unlikely because most of the clubs and I include London side Spurs in this had very little grass to play on come mid winter., how would we have treated Joe Smith, manager for some twenty years and with three cup finals under his belt, it all sounds like paradise, well in fact it pretty well was.
I understand only too well the reasons we have now for boycotting all things Pool and I really feel gutted when I go onto other clubs fan sites and see them debating their players in great detail, the formations the managers are playing and their travelling plans, yes the enthusiasm we once had that has slowly drifted away.
Perhaps in the not too distant future we can all once again discuss the issues on the pitch rather than those off the pitch and the response to a match day thread will draw 100 plus posts and the dads can take their kids to see the Tangerines once again.

You can actually watch this game live, it's costs a fiver or free if you already subscribe to ifollow. As far as iam aware Blackpool FC receive no income from anyone buying it as ifollow pay each club a set amount at the beginning of the season to buy the rights. Can anyone confirm if bollocks? Wouldn't mind watching it.

Going back to the original post, it wasn't long ago we were getting 12k gates and a match day thread on here would regularly get 100 posts. That seems a long way off at present but at least now we have some hope to cling onto.

And that was with most of us attending the games! No-one goes anymore so you would expect a match thread to be more popular now!

Normally check into the match day threads around 5pm to get the score. If there’s a couple of pages I’ll read back. Like Kev though, don’t really care about the outcome.

Mansfield fans on left. Surely the EFL need to scrap this nonsense of having under 23 teams in.
