Worst away game of all time
Followeing Whits post about unlucky grounds. How about most humiliating away defeats. Was anyone else at Barnet in 1990? 7-0! Never thought I'd hear Barnet fans laughing at us.

RE: Worst away game of all time
I was living abroad when we suffered that defeat at Barnet but was around the Christmas and New Year for the unfortunate defeat at St. Andrews when Birmingham beat us 7-1 and the unlucky Mel Capleton was in goal.
What made it worse if that is possible was that we took an early lead and could on the day have scored a few but alas a humiliating defeat.
Big Sam remember him.

Not sure if it was the worst but a few years back Watford away 2-0 up at half time. The rest is too painful to type.
Also a couple of League 4 games Walsall away and Lincoln away.

I was at Barnet that game and I actually sat/stood in three different stands too. I started off in the small seating section opposite the away terrace, was then moved into the away end and then went and sat in the temporary seats behind the goal.
Before the game I saw Darren Currie going into the players entrance and I said “get a Combe you scruffy git”, I hope that didn’t motivate him to put in the performance he did.
Worst away game for me, Plymouth division 3. Hammered it down all game and we lost 2-0.

Not exactly a hammering but the worst away fixture for me anyway

2001 LDV vans match v Lincoln at sincil bank
Lost 3-1 Ormerod scored that day few months after I actually moved to Lincoln most of my mates at school supported Lincoln, I got bullied for ages because of it, around 900 fans there that night! Wasn't many Blackpool me and my grandad went.
A lad who's dad was in the year above me at primary played for Lincoln that day (John schofield) thankfully Lincoln and Blackpool haven't played again since then, looking at Lincoln they seem to be doing well.

Three spring to mind.

Lincoln away around 1992 in the play offs. Remember being distraught.

Doncaster away same scoreline. New season, sun was shining, full of optimism but shocking performance and set the scene for Hendry.

Barnsley away. Lost 3-0. Perhaps around 2003. Lived in Sheffield at the time and went to Barnsley on my own. Was snowing and freezing cold and Blackpool were shocking.

Manchester United away, last match of PL season. Although I obviously wasn't there, that sucked pretty bad.

And my heart broke for the hero Ian Evatt.

Was going to mention Wigan where we lost 3-0 but this was much later on although still at Springfield Park. I think we had just been promoted and it was the season where we played Man City the week before and lost 3-0 as well!

York away Boxing Day in about 1994 - got dicked on 4-0 (could n should have been double figures) think Paul Barnes got his customary hat trick against us.
On & off hail showers on that open terrace
Bus broken down on M62 - got back to Blackpool after midnight n some dirty fecker blocked the bog on the bus too!

Ha! I was at this game. It was freezing and I don’t know how they allowed the game to be played. It was an ice rink. The only other thing I remember is they didn’t even bother opening the usual away end and stuck us in the seats down the side . It appeared there was nobody there from Blackpool but I remember them announcing 51.
