Up until 2013/14 I guess I paid for Owen's Thai specials. Saw the light really in about 2006/7. Blatant greed that followed Premiership became way to much.

The greed was fairly obvious throughout his ownership. Tho it wasn’t until the premiere money it became so full on.

RE: Did he con you and how much have you contributed?
I sussed the O's out way back, when Owen was in jail and his wife ran the show many of the fans were under the impression that we were not going forward and the discontent was shown at demonstrations, marches and if I remember correctly a poll in the Gazette showing the vast majority of fans wanting them to leave, to a point when the club was likely to be put up for sale.
When Worthington left there was improvement on the field and to an extent the pressure on the owners from the fans became less toxic, many clubs have purple patches when either the manager or the owners come under fire particularly when the team is performing badly.
The goings on never dulled my appetite for seeing the team, after all we had previously gone from being a first division club able to compete with the likes of Man U and Arsenal but had seen the club slowly go into a delapedated state with little investment and the Billy Cartmell saga to contend with.
Belekon and Simon Grayson brought some comfort to the fans, Tony Parkes followed by Ollie took the heat off the Oystons even with the pitch being a constant problem, no covers for the frost and the scandalous training pitch never damping the hopes of the fans.
Yes the summer of 2009 and I first heard Ollie on the radio doing his bit at Wembley for the Gillingham play off final in the May, he didn't impress me one bit, particularly with his gaff when he opened his mouth and a few seconds later the complete opposite to what he had forcast happened.
I still went ahead and bought a shirt and a couple of scarves for the new season, attended 28 of the matches including the first six on the trot and took my wife and granddaughter to the opening match and the first two against Cardiff and Derby at Bloomfield road.
In spite of the doubts I had had for years over the Oystons I still loved the club and wanted the best for the team and so yes a few bob was spent one way or another.
As I walked out of Wembley in May 2010 I said to my pal that the vast majority of fans would be expecting the O's to splash out on some players for the coming season but I doubt that will be the case.
The rest is history other than to say I have not been to Bloomfield road since Ipswich six years ago and the away matches since then pay on the gate.
The actions of the owners not to invest was one thing, taking fans to court was crossing a red line and just not acceptable.
I would just like to add, not in their defence in anyway but way back when the demos were on going against the Oystons there was a section of the fan base that were convinced that they saved the club with the Oyston pound, they believed that without him stepping in the ground would have become a shopping mall or similar and to an extent probably still believe that to be true and therefore just continue to go and watch the team.
It was a great shame those same fans didn't join the NAPM brigade, Solidarity would have seen them off without any fans attending other than away fans the end would have been a lot quicker I am sure.

I didn’t really get the message until 13/14 season, I guess due to my own ignorance more than anything else. I did however, realise that the only reason we got to the PL was down to Belokon’s funding. Could you imagine if Belokon never invested and thus didn’t have a stake in the club! ?

As for me back in the day when I 1st started to watch the pool it was about the footy n the away days ,never even thought of the wurzel n co ' I remember the shite with the memberships etc and the whip round we had to scrape to get Super andy Watson. But I also remember away at the monkey hangers singing Owen shagged yer wife, we are all guilty of supporting the rapist n co at some time or an other and we have all probably lined his pockets too but in hindsight what the fuck n who knows.

Good point - I am sure most of us older ones at some point have sung 'Oyston shagged your wife'. Young and naive without really understanding what it meant! That was my excuse.

I remember that chant, bet he was sat in his royal box with a boner and a sly grin when he heard that sung for the first time

Many of times in retaliation for opposing fans singing Oystons sewing bags, also shouted to the keeper when taking goal kicks, "woooooooah you've got aids aaaaahhhhhhhhhh. Which is more embarrassing?

The "woooooooah you've got aids aaaaahhhhhhhhhh" was the most pitiful chant of all time.

“You’ve only come to see Graham Fenton”, was a bad one.

My Mum always said that Oyston and his Father (Shipley?) were as trustworthy as snakes in a hamster cage.

As far back as 1995, when I was 10, I didn't trust them much and Owen's arrest a year later just added to it.
