Match Day Thread: Blackpool v Fleetwood (14/04/2018)
Fixture | Blackpool vs Fleetwood Town – Date | Saturday 14 April – Venue | Bloomfield Road

Blackpool will aim to cap off a strong week in Sky Bet League One when hosting Fleetwood Town tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.

The Seasiders' third consecutive home fixture offers an opportunity to make it nine points from nine and potentially move back in to the top half of the table.

The visitors, some nine miles down the road, are also in good form, with manager John Sheridan having an immediate impact since his appointment in February.

Last Time Out:

Blackpool made it back-to-back home victories with a 3-0 win against Northampton Town on Tuesday night. Goals from Armand Gnanduillet, Sean Longstaff and Jimmy Ryan took The Seasiders' goal tally to eight in two games, with the defence also keeping two cleen sheets in that time.

A last-gasp goal from Conor McAleny ensured that Fleetwood Town bounced back with a 1-0 win at Oxford United. It was the Cod Army's fifth victory in six matches.

Team News:

Kelvin Mellor could return to the Blackpool squad after missing the last eight matches with ankle ligament damage. Kyle Vassell is also aiming to be back in action, having sat out the midweek victory against Northampton Town.

The visitors are also in good shape for the fixture, with John Sheridan having the majority of his squad available for selection.

Betting Odds:

Blackpool Win - 19/20
Draw - 23/10
Fleetwood Town Win - 3/1

The winner will guarantee safety. Both teams are on form but I just fear after hammering Bradford and Northampton, this could be the time Fleetwood finally beat us. This will be totally different as we've played out of form teams where as Fleetwood are flying.

It certainly doesn't have that derby game feel and I don't think it ever will. I am sure Fleetwood fans see it completely different and probably have their Oyston in banners ready.

Scabs outnumbered. Least Owen will feel more wanted.

I think under normal circumstances we could sell 6/7k for Fleetwood away and up to 8/9k for a big promotion game! It just goes to show how shit they are.

We’d even take more than 1k in these bleak times, stadium permitting of course.

Fleetwood already mocking our pitch before the game has started. We are shower of shit the owners are.

“They are a hard team to play against. The pitch will not be great but it is a pitch and I’m not going to make any excuses before I go there.

So how many ex-Blackpool players will score? Bobby Grant? Ashley Eastham? Do they have more?

And vice-versa, will Jimmy Ryan get on the scoresheet against his old club?

Magic will already be that pumped for that game, he should be able to answer with the enthusiasm required!

They have sold 1,200 tickets now! That's quite a decent following for them.

Any NAPM pool fan in the Fleetwood end can get fucked as far as I’m concerned.
Spineless, dirty twats!
