Video shops
God I miss them, most of the time it was the first time you got to see the movie. There was nothing better than having a night in and going to the video store to choose a movie. Wayside movies on Caunce street was one I used a lot or Gemini in Layton. Fuck technology advancements. What other video shops were there part from the obvious Blockbusters?

Village Video on Wood St St Annes. At first it was half VHS and half Betamax. Soon became all VHS.

Prior to video shops, there was a lady who called each Friday evening with a boot full of videos that we chose from a catalogue. Watched all the video nasties thanks to her.

Alan Haywood then Tower video both Blackpool town centre . Alan Haywood had loads of porn videos, got raided by the police and got sent down. His mrs then ran it with nothing stronger than an X rated horror.

Never, I was only young when VHS's were around so top shelfers weren't my thing yet. Do you know how fucking disgusting a vagina looks to a 9 year old.

Gynn Video half way up the hill on Dickson Road was a big part of my upbringing. The tatty wooden inlay and its blatant copyright infringement of the batman logo outside will be ever a part of my mind. Wasn't the biggest of shops and I was probably it's most loyal customer between the ages of three and ten. Was a sad day when it closed.

I'd rather not go there. Not making any accusations like. Let's just leave it

Reminds me of that joke......
Little lad goes in the bathroom and catches his mum in the bath
"What's that" as he points
"Oh, it's where I got hit with an axe"
"It was a great shot mum, right in the twat"

Remember going to one near the number 3 pub. Was good for computer game rentals.
