Rooney only produced more than 29 goals once in his entire career.

Shit for England though, unless you count running around.

It's wrong to describe a player as world class based on how they do in the Premier League. He is playing with genuine world class players and the bottom half of the Premier League is pretty dire if we are being honest. Do we class Scott Sinclair of Celtic world class as he has banged a few goals in recent years?

For me, to be world class, you have to do it in an elite tournament such as the Champions League, Euros or World Cup. Sterling has yet to do this although it goes without saying I hope he makes a name for himself tomorrow.

Well, thankfully by your ridiculous metric Sterling is World Class cause he's been one of our best players and we've just won only our third quarter final at a World Cup ever.

Also no we don't class Scott Sinclair as world class cause it's the fucking Scottish Premier League. Jesus. This debate is so frustratingly dumb.

Football fans will always have different opinions. Ive played at a decent enough level to warrant one. What other metric do you suggest? The Checkatrade Trophy?

To say Sterling has been 'world class' at this tournament is unbelievable. He was decent against Sweden although once again lacked the final product.

If we are saying someone is world class simply by their runs and movement, Aide Forbes should have had a call up.

Good player? Yes. Would I rather have him in our side? Yes. Is he world class today? Not until he starts to make a difference in the elite competitions.

Aidy Forbes should be in the squad IMO.

He'd definitely offer more than Sterling.

He sometimes had the end product as well although he never meant it.

That's Sterling's problem, he always means it.

I am not actually criticising Sven or whoever for not calling up Aide Forbes. I am just trying to understand your logic. The goals and creative thing I can half understand but then do we say Charlie Austin is world class for scoring 18 goals for a poor QPR side or James Milner is for being in the all time top 10 for most PL assists?

He is obviously a good player as Pep wouldn't pick him but I bet you any money that even Pep wouldn't class him as world class until he does on the big stage and not against the likes of WBA and Bournemouth.
