It's such a small sample size, this is why I originally brought up Messi. Not to say Sterling is in his league, but Messi hasn't scored against anyone good at a World Cup either. But you wouldn't say Messi isn't world class, because we recognise it's down to circumstance

Btw, Sterling produced 5 goals in 5 starts and 3 sub appearances in the Champions League last season

For the record, tomorrow night is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to be labelled as world class. Sterling is the kind of player who we need to make a difference tomorrow night. We shall see. I hope he has the game of his life.

Anyone who can't see Pickford got it horribly wrong is off their head. Even Everton fans on Grand Old Team thought he did. Not sure why it's so difficult to admit. Thankfully he more than redeemed himself in the next game which is a sign of a good keeper.

There is quite a significant difference in highlighting a mistake and thinking he's shit. I never said the latter.

Quote:I'm sure Pickford dived too early. That might be over critical.
Great goal to be fair. He did Rose.

Quote:I thought Pickford looked a bit dodgy for their goal. The pundits have just confirmed it.

Quote:After watching Pickford last night, I would be more confident with Butland or Pope. He won't change it though. Hopefully Pickford can learn from last night and he has the basics to be a good keeper. He just needs to be coached properly but hopefully not at England's expense. Why he went to save that with his left hand last night, I will never know. He lost all elevation going with the wrong hand. The top keepers would have easily saved that.

Maybe it's all a clever tactic to lead Belgium into a false sense of security ahead of the inevitable final.

I would say all those comments are spot on apart from dropping him for Pope or Butland. That was obviously heat of the moment stuff and looks a bit silly. I have no problem is admitting when I'm wrong!

Either that or Sterling will score a hat trick and Foggy will be unbearable for months.

interesting point, but what is the definition of World Class, would Richard Kingson be regarded as World Class as he played a good number of games for the Ghanaian national team including the World Cup stages and at the finals.
Apologies for a late arrival but been away for a few days.
