We can rue the chances in the first but overall the better team won. They have better players. Rashford, Sterling, Lingard,.Ali, etc are all good players but nowhere near world class

They've done well though and should be proud.

Everyone obviously heartbroken but the boys and Gareth have still done us proud. I think this squad can have a real crack at Euro 2020. Anyway back to rapist FC... *sigh*

Feel sorry for any Croatians out and about on the streets of England tonight.

True.

It's hard to take this. Not so much the defeat but the manner. Was it a reality check that our players aren't good enough, was it a mental thing or were Croatia that good.

Roy Keane sums it up for me. 'Not enough quality'.

To be honest don't know whether it's better for this or to have gone through and been hammered by France.

Thumbsup2

I saw the 90 mins but then had to go for a walk for 45 mins, just felt it was going to be a stressful time, but as ROSSALL said they did us proud, well done the lads and Southgate, Europe next up.

Game of two halves, and extra time England just too tired ... Croatia just about deserved it
but don't particularly like Croatia though - find them nigglying and annoyingly cunning, playing to the 'foul threshold' so many times to thwart oponents

I thought they played well again tonight to be fair, there were periods where we should have kept the ball far more effectively and again we created very little from open play, but fuck it they've had a great tournament.

agreed ...

one qualm with England all WC were the throw-ins ... we never moved players into space, no-one ran - so became predictable. We hardly ever gained space from throw-ins!

We just need more composure and better quality in the final third. Is that just inexperience or do we need better quality players. I think we are two or three players of real quality short. Hopefully we have some more exciting players coming through the youth system.

Even getting into the semis, I'm still not a fan of the formation and I believe it was heavily exposed at times tonight.

Need to stop over analysing and focus on what they have achieved. The most important thing is not actually reaching the semis, it's reuniting the country and getting the fans on board again.
