Chill Out
Its chill out sunday everyone with the last 2 days of arguments let's have a chilled out day.what's on for you?church?
These non football weekends everyone seems to go crazy. Its a forum we are all not going to get on and like each other but tolerate is the word we should use. If we were all the same it would be worse having different opinions and beliefs is what makes the world tick over.
Have a good sunday everyone and spend it with your loved ones at the end of the day this is just a forum not life or death.

RE: Chill Out
Many of the older guys on here and there are very few I would imagine could remember when half of Europe was under the communists. When people from countries such as Poland could only hear on the radio what the state wanted them to hear, tv was the same state run and the press was run by the state as well. You said or wrote something different at your peril.
The only thing the state couldn't do was to stop people thinking, unless you were unfortunate to be in the hands of the secret police, then you had no time or inclination to think, surviving was the only way forward.
I know the mods have a job to do, to make sure we don't step out of line by saying something that in this day and age is unacceptable, but what they can't do is to stop us thinking what we like along with millions of others in this country who think the same.
Have a good day Ger and all the others on here, freedom, you wouldn't want to be without it.

RE: Chill Out
Im off to church

I'll leave you with this :

1. Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
forgive our foolish ways;
reclothe us in our rightful mind,
in purer lives thy service find,
in deeper reverence, praise.

2. In simple trust like theirs who heard,
beside the Syrian sea,
the gracious calling of the Lord,
let us, like them, without a word,
rise up and follow thee.

3. O sabbath rest by Galilee,
O calm of hills above,
where Jesus knelt to share with thee
the silence of eternity,
interpreted by love!

4. Drop thy still dews of quietness,
till all our strivings cease;
take from our souls the strain and stress,
and let our ordered lives confess
the beauty of thy peace.

5. Breathe through the heats of our desire
thy coolness and thy balm;
let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still, small voice of calm.

RE: Chill Out
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

Refrain

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

Refrain

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

Refrain

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

Refrain

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

Refrain

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Refrain

RE: Chill Out
Here's one of my favourites :

Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your
love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord
And where there's doubt, true faith in
you.

Chorus:
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace
Where there's despair in life, let me bring
hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there's sadness, ever joy.

Chorus:

Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we're born to eternal
life.

Chorus:

Why are there no scouts around these days doing bob a job when you want your car washing?

Suppose that's my Sunday sorted

Hope it cures my hangover

RE: Chill Out
See here to please.

Do they still sing this in schools?

Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising,
Give me joy in my heart, I pray,
Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising,
Keep me praising 'till the break of day.

Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King of kings!
Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing hosanna to the King.

Give me peace in my heart, keep me praying,
Give me peace in my heart, I pray,
Give me peace in my heart, keep me praying,
Keep me praying 'till the end of day.

Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising,
Give me joy in my heart, I pray,
Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising,
Keep me praising 'till the break of day.

Give my oil in my lamp, keep me burning,
Give me oil in my lamp, I pray,
Give my oil in my lamp, keep me burning,
Keep me burning 'till the end of day.

Give me peace in my heart, keep me resting,
Give me peace in my heart, I pray.
Give me peace in my heart, keep me resting,
Keep me resting 'till the end of day.

A very hard one to sing when I was in the Choir. The high notes weren't easy.
